‘Tis the time for my favorite Friday post of the year…the Christmas edition! This time of the year is my absolute favorite! We just got our tree Monday (talk about waiting too long) so now the house really looks Christmasy. All the presents are bought and some of them wrapped. We are on top of things at the Rheault household! Hopefully this post gives you some great ideas! Let’s get started…..
Favorite DIY Christmas Tree: The past couple years we have done an alternative tree. One was a tree outline of lights on the wall and the other was a backdrop of a tree. They were fun but not nearly as fun as these 18 Ingenious DIY Christmas Trees. I want to try and do all of these! You can even do them in addition to a real Christmas tree as decor in other rooms. Of course the picture I shared is the book tree because duh 🙂
Favorite Treat: The past couple years I have made a treat called Reindeer Noses to give to everybody. They are always a hit but this year I wanted to find something new to make. Cue Christmas Crunch! It has popcorn, white chocolate, M&Ms, and pretzels. Yum!
Favorite Cocktail: It isn’t Christmas until Grandma makes coquito. If you haven’t had it you have NO idea what you are missing. It is the Puerto Rican version of eggnog but MUCH better. I actually don’t like eggnog so if you don’t like eggnog don’t worry you will like coquito. One Christmas I drank so much that I passed out around 11 am. It will definitely sneak up on you! There are a couple different ways to make it. Some people use egg yolks, some do not. Here is the recipe without eggs and then here is the recipe with eggs. My grandma makes hers with the egg yolks.
Favorite Gift Wrapping: Luke has been wrapping presents and they look beautiful. He went on YouTube to figure out how to do pretty bows and they came out great! I love the idea of wrapping presents creatively and having them all look uniform. Next year may be the year I attempt to do that. Here are 16 Ingenious Gift Wrapping Hacks.
Favorite Manicure: This holiday I am actually doing festive nails! I bought press on nails from Impress Manicure that have cute Christmas designs. I have never tried these before so hopefully they are easy enough to figure out. For those of you who have the talent for nail art you can find great designs here, here and here.
Favorite Cocktail (Again): Usually I try to only include one beverage per post but I saw these Very Merry Ornamentini on Pinterest and it is so adorable I had to include it in this post.
Favorite Decor: I could do a whole post just with decoration ideas. Between outside the house, inside the house, mantels, tablescapes, etc the possibilities are endless. Here are outdoor decoration ideas, centerpieces, indoor decor, tablescapes, mantel decor, and tree decor.
Favorite Christmas Card Ideas: When we were younger my mom always had us take matchy matchy Christmas photos. We have been on a boat, on the beach, in our backyard, etc. I love getting Christmas cards with family pictures every year. Here are 101 Creative Christmas Card Ideas to use for years to come.
Favorite Gift in a Jar: I love a good DIY gift, especially when they come in a mason jar. There is something just so cute about it. Here are 15 Fun & Festive Gifts in a Jar. Perfect for a gift exchange!
