TGIF! I hope everyone had a wonderful week and has a fabulous weekend. Last week I missed posting my favorites because I had surgery (more on that later.) I have been recuperating this week but I didn’t want to miss another post! These are one of my favorite ones to do!! Off we go….
Favorite Weekender Tote: This Mason Vegan Travel Satchel from Sole Society is the perfect bag for a weekend getaway. Priced at a reasonable $79, it comes in cognac & black and is a great size.
Favorite Etsy Shop: Courtney over at Daws & Gray makes the most adorable beer & wine koozies that can be personalized for parties, weddings, holidays, etc. I have a few Christmas ones, Halloween ones, and patriotic ones. I love them!
Favorite Dip: I have made this Easy Feta Dip a few times and it is so good I could eat the entire thing in one sitting. I don’t like tomatoes so I substitute cucumber instead. Also make sure you toast the baguette slices, gives it a great extra crunch.
Favorite Bucket List Vacation: Camp No Counselors is an adult sleep away camp that looks like so much fun! It is for a weekend, in many of the cities in the US, that includes all meals, open bar, a TON of activities, and themed party nights. You can do things ranging from archery to ropes courses to scavenger hunts to so much more.
Favorite Party Decor: There are quite a few things you can do with a ice cube tray and making decorative ice cubes for parties is one of them. This Bridal Shower Love article shows a great example of combining flowers with ice cubes. Perfect for an elegant party.
Favorite Flip Flops: Living in Florida flip flops are a staple of my wardrobe. I love finding cute ones and these beaded starfish ones are perfect. My stepsister got a pair for me for Christmas a couple years ago and they are adorable on! They come in both silver & gold.
Favorite Cocktail: The past couple days you can tell summer is on the way. It has been so HOT here! Perfect time to make this Summer Sangria with Watermelon & Pineapple. Sounds so yummy!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter Sunday. My mom and Rudy had a brunch at their house and that is always the perfect way to spend a Sunday! We had french toast casserole, egg & sausage bake, guava pastries, omelettes made to order (thanks to Hubby) and of course MIMOSAS! All the food was amazing. We played Outburst, Catch Phrase and Kan Jam because our family get-togethers aren’t complete without some friendly competition. I have to say my Kan Jam playing was on point, even Luke mentioned it. Usually my frisbee throwing skills are severely lacking, maybe it was the mimosas. 🙂
Sunny had an Easter egg hunt at the beach with her little cousins so we knew they probably wouldn’t be making it and of course they were missed. All the adults were eyeing the eggs mom made for Sunny because rumor had it one of them had a $100 bill. I think it was a myth but that didn’t stop Grandma from wanting to find it, ha! We always have such a good time when we all get together and Sunday was no exception. I just have the best family! We say it all the time but we need to make Sunday brunches a monthly tradition 🙂
Happy Friday everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful week and have an even better Easter weekend! I got to leave work today at 1 so the weekend is off to a great start. Got to leave early and have brunch with the family on Sunday with unlimited mimosas, sounds perfect to me!! Now time for some favorites….
Favorite Beach Accessory: This Santa Barbara Round Towel is so gorgeous and spacious that is definitely a must have for the beach.
Favorite New Hobby: I recently bought a Paint by Sticker book and I am a tad obsessed at the moment. I think I did one page every day for the past week. It is a fun take on the adult coloring trend. You get a template that is number coded and a page of stickers that match up with the numbers to make a really pretty picture. They have them for both kids and adults.
Favorite Coffee Treat: Coffee is a must have in my life! I am usually a hot coffee kind of girl but every once in a while I love a good iced coffee drink. Usually it’s a Dunkin’ Donuts iced coffee with caramel but these 15 iced coffee recipes look so yummy I may have to try one or ten.
Favorite Bar Must Have: I saw the “Booze” decanter on Pinterest and thought it was a perfect accessory for a home bar. Putting liquor in a decanter just makes a bar look so much more sophisticated. Make sure you also check out the rest of the products on this site. I just got lost in it for a good twenty minutes. So much cute stuff!
Favorite Spring Dress: Tis the season for floral prints. Magnolia Boutique has some adorable dresses that are great for Spring including this “Bloom Where You Are Planted” navy shift dress. I want the entire outfit from the necklace to the dress to the wedges!
Favorite Craft: Kelsie Ann at the blog Cut, Craft, Create made this personalized photo map and it is such a good idea. You take a picture of you and your travel partner(s) in whatever state you visit and add it to a map. It is a great way to track where you travel and it also will make you want to visit every single one of our 50 states. You can even get really ambitious and try and do one of every continent. Wouldn’t that be nice?!
Favorite Date Night Idea: The Dating Divas website has some awesome date night ideas for you and your honey and of course my favorite one is the Bookstore Date! You each get a card with different categories and then you have to separate and go find a book that fits. For example one of the cards is labeled “Recipes” so you have to go to the cookbook section and pick out a recipe you would like to cook for you both. Another is “Quizzes” so you have to go find a magazine that has a quiz you can do together. There are a total of 6 different categories. It is a cute date night for any of my fellow book nerds.
With Easter coming up next weekend I decided to dedicate this week’s ‘Friday Favorites’ to everything Easter. I love all the holidays so look out for future themed posts. I couldn’t pick just one per category so you’ll see quite a few ideas for each ‘favorite.’ The more the merrier right? Let’s get started….
Favorite Easter Basket Ideas: My cousin posted on Facebook the other day asking for Easter basket ideas so I went to Pinterest (because duh) and there are so many different, fun ideas. This compilation of baskets range from all ages and they are all so cute!
Favorite Easter Sweets: For this one I am giving 4 different sweet treats. I mean how could I pick just one? There are Bunny Butt Cookies, Bunny Bait, Peanut Butter Buttons, & Peeps S’mores. It took me about 30 minutes to narrow it down to just these four. There are so many great recipes!
Favorite Easter Manicures: I have said this before but I wish I was half as talented as the people who can do nail art. I can barely paint my right hand, hehe. If you want some ideas for a cute Spring/Easter manicure you can click here and here.
Favorite Easter Decor: Decorating your home for holidays is a great time to get creative. You can go all out or you can be subtle with it. There are so many options. I saved a few articles with a ton of ideas for indoors, outdoors, and for tablescapes.
Favorite Easter Egg Hunt Ideas: One of my favorite parts of Easter is hunting for eggs. It is so cute watching the little ones try and find the eggs that were hidden and making it harder as they get older. Personally I think they should do more adult Easter egg hunts. Fill the eggs with money, little liquor bottles, lotto tickets, movie tickets, the ideas are endless. If you want some creative hunts (for kids) click here and here for some great ideas like a glow in the dark hunt, scavenger hunt, jigsaw puzzle hunt, and many more.
Favorite Easter Egg Designs: One of my fondest childhood memories is dying eggs with my little brothers. There was always laughter, and sometimes a few tears when someone would steal a color the other wanted to use. We have some great pictures of grumpy kids. Nowadays there are so many fun ways to decorate eggs to make them funky, fancy, colorful, intricate and so much more. This one was probably the hardest category for me to just pic a few pictures to feature. The ideas are so amazing! Click here and here for 100+ different ideas.
Favorite Easter Cocktails: Who said Easter has to be just for the kids? Mix up one of these Easter cocktails to have while the kids run around looking for eggs. Win win! You can also buy this Easter Candy Cocktail Rim Sugar to make your drinks extra festive.
Favorite Easter Printables: Pinterest is full of free printables for any occasion. If you have a nice printer you can get some really cute prints to decorate gifts, frame and put around the house, for kids to color, or to use for crafts. The blogs Lil’ Luna and Clean & Scentsible put together a great collection of them.
Favorite Easter Photo Ideas: One of the cutest traditions of Easter is going to take a picture with your local mall’s Easter Bunny. There are also really cute photos you can take yourself or get professionally done. So many adorable ideas!
