Friday Favorites

by Kristeena

Happy Friday!!! I had a two day work week and I wish it could be like that every week. The past week had been so much fun! Last Friday night I got to babysit my favorite little munchkin, Saturday I went to my cousin Daniel’s wedding (and it was fab!), and then Tuesday we went to a Spring Training game at the new ballpark. Hope everyone else had a great week as well! Now time for some favorites….

Favorite Home Decor for Renters: If you are like us and rent instead of own you always covet all the awesome home ideas on Pinterest that you can’t do because it isn’t your place to change. One thing you can do to make a decorative difference is either painting walls or using removable wallpaper like the ones found here. There are so many awesome patterns to choose from. We have some of our walls painted but after seeing these I think it may been time for a change.

Favorite Popsicle: Every time I go on a cruise my go to “by the pool” drink is a Lava Flow which is a Pina Colada with strawberry puree swirl. These Lava Flow Popsicles are the perfect sweet treat. The recipe doesn’t call for alcohol but I am sure you could easily whip up a batch with some rum. Just don’t mix them up with the kid friendly version!

Favorite Future Fun: I was listening to my favorite radio show today and they mentioned a new project coming to Florida called American Dream Miami. It is a mega center anticipated to exceed 5 million square feet of dynamic retail, entertainment and dining experiences much like Mall of America. Not only will it have shopping but will also include upscale arts & entertainment, live performing arts center, lots of dining destinations, a luxury theater complex, water ballet fountains, art deco village, tivoli gardens, luxury hotel accommodations, indoor/outdoor theme park, indoor ski park, indoor waterpark, indoor skating rink, aquarium, and submarine ride. Doesn’t it just sound amazing?!

Favorite Instafind: I am one of those people who take pictures of their food and one of the things I am trying to work on is taking better pictures of the recipes I cook. I came across the Instagram account Vibrant and Pure run by Adeline Waugh and she takes GORGEOUS pictures of food! I mean look at these pictures of toast:

Favorite Kitchen Gadget: Most people either have a toaster OR toaster oven in their kitchen. When I had the oven I wanted a toaster and now that I have the toaster I want the oven. There are certain foods that are better in a toaster and some better in a toaster oven so what if you could have both? Well you can and I want one! The Hamilton Beach Toastation Toaster & Oven is the perfect gadget.

Favorite Kid-Friendly DIY: Sidewalk chalk is a art tool that kids have used forever. Back in my day it was just basic chalk but now there are so many different fancier types of sidewalk chalk. I would like to think that when I have kids I would rather do a project like this Sidewalk Chalk Pops instead of just buying them from the store. It teaches your kids about science, how to be creative, and is something fun to do together.

Favorite Savory Dish: I don’t think I have met one person who doesn’t love mac & cheese. I mean it’s pasta & cheese! This Grown Up Mac & Cheese takes the classic dish and kicks it up a notch using gouda cheese & bacon. YUM!

Favorite Holiday Manicure: I love doing my nails to fit the season/holiday so with St. Patrick’s Day coming up I figured I should include some festive manicure ideas in my favorites. How cute are these nails?!

Favorite Outfit: I saved this outfit on Facebook a couple days ago because I thought it was adorable. Both the pants and the tank look so comfy, plus I love things with a monogram. Just look at my cell phone case, work mouse pad, and cell phone holder. 🙂 You can find this outfit and other cute clothes & accessories at I Love Jewelry.
