Before we get into tonight’s episode can I just say I was loving the Beauty & the Beast promos throughout the commercial breaks and I CAN NOT WAIT until that movie comes out! OK Bachelor time…
We pick up right where we left off, Taylor & Corinne telling each other that they don’t like one another, how no one in the house likes the other blah blah blah. I am over it and ready for them both to go home. I will say Taylor was a tad bit classier with the way she handled it, at least for now, later not so much. I think next week I am going to make the hubs play a drinking game with me while we watch: take a drink every time Corinne curses or calls someone names.
After the world’s most annoying “fight” it is time for the rose ceremony. Danielle L, Kristina & Raven already have roses. Roses get handed out to Whitney, Danielle M., Jasmine, Rachel, Jaimi, Josephine, Vanessa, Alexis, Corinne, and Taylor. That means it is time to say goodbye to Sarah & Astrid. Astrid seems like she doesn’t really care but Sarah has the typical speech about how she doesn’t know why she can’t find love…you are 26, relax. By the way how cold was it at that rose ceremony? The producers could have at least let them have the rose ceremony inside but I guess possible hospitalization for hypothermia makes for better television.
Time to leave cold ass Milwaukee for…New Orleans!! I have to say NOLA is on my list of places I want to visit so I approve of this next stop in the journey for love.
From the moment she gets picked for this date you can tell that Rachel seems to genuinely like Nick and after this date I am a fan of Nick & Rachel so it makes me worried about my final pick. They have a great connection and probably the most passion I have seen thus far. They were making out all over New Orleans. They did a little shopping, ate some oysters and then were part of a second line. A second line is kind of like a parade that NOLA is known for having during both happy occasions and funerals. I have to say I am pretty impressed with Nick’s dance moves…boy has some rhythm! After getting down on Bourbon Street they head over to a bar for Lolo concert and a bit more dancing. I had never heard of Lolo before this episode and I really enjoyed her voice. Next up is Mardi Gras World, which is a warehouse filled with Mardi Gras floats, for some “dinner” and conversation.
Rachel opens up about how she was just there last year for a funeral and that made her really appreciate the moment that she got to experience with Nick. They go on to talk about their families, how both sets of parents are still together, and how Rachel’s dad is a federal judge so he can be a tad intimidating. Nick then talks about his nerves having to ask for yet another daughter’s hand in marriage. They seem to really be connecting and to me they have had the best chemistry on a one-on-one thus far. Step it up Vanessa!
Group Date: Haunted Houmas House
Josephine, Kristina, Alexis, Raven, Jaimi, Vanessa, Danielle M, Whitney, Jasmine & Danielle L
The group date is at what is claims to be one of the most haunted houses in Louisiana. It is just me or does look like the house right out of The Notebook? At first I was pretty excited about this date, as I have always wanted to go on a ghost tour, but as soon as they are inside and the caretaker, Boo, starts on the story I lose interest. Boo is the creepiest part of the whole date. He tells the story of a little girl named May who used to live in the house and haunts the house looking for her doll. He warns the ladies not to stuff May’s stuff so OF COURSE Jasmine touches May’s hat…oh no I wonder what is going to happen?!?! As night falls Nick & the ladies gather in the parlor for a nice night of the Oujia board (really??) and exploring the “haunted” mansion where all kinds of typical haunted house stuff happens; chairs moving, rocking horses rocking, lights flickering…so cheesy. There a few one-on-one conversations, highlight being Raven telling Nick that when he sang “Kiss the Girl” from The Little Mermaid was “the moment I fell in love with you.” It was actually kind of cute even though it is waaaaay too soon.
This date is boring me so let’s head over to the hotel and see how Corinne & Taylor are preparing for their two-on-date. Taylor is meditating and in typical Corinne fashion she has a mud mask on, drinking champagne in a bathtub…could she be anymore typecast?? She also seems to have ordered room service and she gets more food than I have ever seen in the entire series of The Bachelor. Bulking up to kick Taylor’s butt? I may not like her but I would definitely put my money on Corinne. Now back to the haunted mansion to figure out who gets tonight’s date rose. The rose goes to….Danielle M, which is a surprise to me because I don’t feel like they have that strong of a connection. Did you notice how they tied in Beauty and the Beast into this date with the placement of the date rose? Oh ABC you are just so clever. Overall I didn’t see much progress in any of the relationships tonight and I was pretty eh about the date.
Two-on-One Date: Corinne & Taylor
Time to take these ladies into the swampland, right up Corinne’s alley. They start out with a small boat tour through the bayou, or as Corinne calls it the jungle. After getting out of the boat they stumble into a voodoo ceremony where a woman is there to give them a tarot card reading. The tarot card lady says there is too much tension and that she needs to read each girl alone, which gives Nick one on one time with each of them. First to get her cards read is Taylor and she is told not to engage in the toxicity in the house (too late.) Meanwhile Corinne takes this opportunity to throw Taylor under the bus by (falsely) telling Nick that she was verbally attacked, called stupid and bullied. Oy vey. Time to switch; Corinne’s cards say that her words tend to get her into trouble and then things blow up…I don’t need tarot cards to know that. She then asked for a voodoo doll, watch out other women in the house! Nick gets his one on one time with Taylor and lets her know what Corinne said and she just listens and takes it. I have a feeling she knows she is going home so doesn’t even bother fighting it. She did give us the best line of the night in her post one-on-one interview about how Corinne & Nick’s relationship will be built on “whip cream and lies.” Taylor then comes back to the table and confronts Corinne about how she lied yada yada yada. Now it is time for Nick to make his choice and he picks…Corinne. UGH. I was kind of hoping he would get rid of them both. They then leave Taylor alone in the woods while they ride off into the swamp…ahhh romance. And then this happens:
Nick & Corinne then go to dinner but it gets quickly interrupted by Taylor, who now has priestess powers and has come to possess Corinne; or maybe she just coming to tell Nick about Corinne’s true colors. I guess we will have to wait until next week to see. Do you think he sends them both packing?
You can watch The Bachelor Monday nights at 8 pm on ABC.
